About Us

DTROCK dancing is one component that makes up DTROCK entertainment. DTROCK dancing started around 2017 as a way to entertain clients and patrons while Oscar Olivarez Jr would DJ at local establishments in the Rio Grande Valley area. When Oscar Olivarez won a few competitions with Lizbeth Rubalcava and started traveling to take lessons DTROCK became the premiere company to take lessons for Country, Western, and Tejano dancing. DTROCK continues to this day to set the standard and is often imitated by other longer standing studios with them even recruiting some of our students to teach at their studios as well.

Private Lessons

Private lessons have a face-to-face setting wherein your instructor will focus only on you. This means you have our undivided attention. We will be able to personalize each lesson according to your skill level and or wants.

We even have an optional scaffolded curriculum with belt colors much like martial arts which help set up short and long term goals. Private lessons can be done in the comfort of your own home or one of our locations.

Choreography

Taking a wedding dance, sweeet 16, or quince choreography is the number one way to make you less anxious and awkward about being in the spotlight. Practicing your dance steps instead will also make you feel more prepared and confident for your specific event.

If dancing were a superpower, this class would be the secret training ground. From the moment the music started, I forgot all my worries (and most of my coordination). Oscar’s energy was so contagious that even my two left feet started cooperating. By the end, I was sweating, smiling, and convinced I was ready for Dancing with the Stars—or at least a really impressive TikTok video. Whether you’re a pro or just here for the vibes, this class will have you grooving, laughing, and wondering why you didn’t start sooner. Absolute 10/10 experience!
